The Paper GOAT is the occasional print journal of The GOAT PoL, featuring stories already published on the website. Each volume is guest edited/curated by a GOAT PoL writer who chooses the theme and selects the writing to include. The idea emerged to offer incarcerated writers a chance to read stories written by others in the polity, as well as to reach other readers who do not have access to or preference for the internet. We send copies without charge to writers in the polity who are incarcerated and/or are restricted from the internet by their governments or circumstances.
Issue #1 of The Paper GOAT is curated by Hasina Raoufi, a writer from Afghanistan. This issue features fifteen pieces from The GOAT PoL and original art from Mojgan Abdolrahmani focused on the convergence of upheaval, feminism, and poverty.
