Outlaw Imaginations VI

Swamp Sticky

Reckonin’

Sittin’ here at midnight, sleep just won’t come to this lonesome prison cell.
You’d be surprised to hear the stories these walls could tell.
Broken dreams, broken hearts, and broken promises are all they know so damn well.
Cigarette smoke deliverin’ prayers that my soul skips that runaway train to hell.

My mind beings to reckon about this rebellious southern belle.
She wrote to me in prison with a photograph that put me in her spell.
Raven hair and soft red lips I see and wish to kiss and smell
And in the sway of her sexy hips is where I dream to dwell.

All About a Girl

I was watching them trucks
Rolling down that lonesome highway
They make an endless line
Through that prison yard fence

Rememberin them good ole days
Smokin dope to forget the bad
Wishin every day that when I was younger
I’d a had more damn sense.

I’m thinkin’ ’bout this pretty girl
She had big brown eyes
And a gorgeous smile

If I was outta here
I’d run like the wind
Thankin’ the Almighty every mile.

Knowin’ all the way
She’d jump into my arms
Then hell, we’d just kiss for a while.

She smells real sweet
When she’s fresh from a bath
She reminds me of rainbows
On a sunlit path

She takes away never
When she softly laughs
Her music wraps ya
In a soft forever

Poured inside her warm hugs
Tomorrow’s bloom ever bright
Always sittin’ in gladness
Like a cold beer in a mug.

When Ya in the Wind

Rollin’ outta another paper mill town
Another job done
I’m back on the run
Another pretty girl
Left in the rain behind
I got her address wrote on an old cigarette box
She’s left holdin’ hope
Of nowhere dreams.

The highway song
Is a lonesome whine
Watchin’ headlights screamin’ by
Followin endless white lines
Totin’ lonesome dreams
Broken homes in boxes
Totin’ lonesome people
On a ride to nowhere.

It’s always gray
When ya in the wind
Smokin’ rolled up cigarettes
My head’s all a-spin
With lonesome memories
Of a stop-sign town
Another broken promise
Another weekend love drowns.
