At last, Djasa wa Djasa has arrived. We have been waiting for him while getting assaulted and assailed ruthlessly by the sweltering heat from the sun for hours now. What does he take us for? Cartoons, dolls or logs? Uh? Tell me, my friend, otherwise this is outrageous, debasing, and an insult of the highest order! We should not just swallow such gibberish at all costs.
Behold the car he drives. My neck! They call these species of machines Hummers! They are not just classy but also costly. Oh yes, my poor friend! You have to cough up millions of Congolese francs to get your hands on one! As for you and me, it would mean breaking our backs in our rice fields for eternity to acquire this sort of a car. This life has no balance at all, my friend!
Take a glance at him. He has the physique of a healthy and happy man. Quite fleshy! He boasts a tummy, chubby cheeks, and silky skin but what a heck of a man he is!
Surely he belongs to the society of those bigwigs who chew money while we engage in a grim day-to-day struggle for survival. We are not living but merely surviving. Yes, we do not live but simply exist. It is doom and gloom in those shacks of houses where we dwell and confront hostile meals while the likes of him are enjoying this same life to the fullest. This world, my friend!
Hear him now! He speaks! What does he say? That he is glad to see us? Liar! Hypocrite! Disciple of Judas Iscariot! Where has he been hiding all this time? Where did he hole up? He had dumped us like garbage into the bins! Yes, this Djasa wa Djasa man had harshly forsook us! And now he is back to feed us his familiar sugar-coated speeches so that we propel him to parliament in the impending elections. Brutal bloodsucker! Let him go to hell and kiss Lucifer.
Pay attention! He is still speaking! What does he say this time around? That once he goes back to parliament he is going to bring us what? Clean water, huh? A dispensary, school blocks, passable roads and bags of seeds for everyone in Sange constituency! Bloody liar! Bloody hypocrite! He is Judas Iscariot incarnated! Do not take him seriously. He parroted the same during the previous campaign and he thinks our memories are rotten. Perhaps he thinks our brains are as small as those of grasshoppers. Dispatch his empty talk to the rubbish dump and throw his garbage of a speech into a putrid pit latrine. He is a heartless hypocrite.
Do you realize, my friend? They say he owns a huge house in town. They say he cannot live among us, the village folk, because he has a fridge which needs electricity to operate. But now he needs the same village without electricity so as to continue basking in comfort. That is typical of a bedbug, my friend! Oh yes! That is how a bedbug operates. During the day it hides in the comfort of nooks and in the wall, only to come out at night when it is really hungry. Djasa wa Djasa is really hungry now. And don’t they say a bedbug feeds only on the poor? You can’t rub shoulders with a bedbug in a man’s mansion. So, my friend, this Djasa is a perfect bedbug. And a vicious one in this case!
Mark this! What has he just uttered? He castigates Kituza, his rival, simply because she is a woman? That it is an abomination to have a leader in skirts and dresses, huh? And that the tradition of our land forbids women to lead over men? Call him a shameless crook! Brand his mouth foul! And fling his filthy deception into a stinking dustbin! Who decreed only men must decide and women nod their heads? Is it not a suppression of expression for the female populace? Who said all women must do is wriggle waists, vibrate bottoms and stretch vocal chords chanting praises for male politicians? It is time we sound the death knell for such perilous thinking.
What? My friend, you claim to agree with him? Pardon? So you are saying that our society is not ripe yet for female leaders? That women must glorify men and be content as fetchers of water and hewers of wood? But times are changing swiftly, my friend, and so should be our perceptions. Let’s plunge into the tide of change and move with it. Women are equally competent and capable! There are female presidents out there who are ruling a whole nation of more worthy-to-be-respected men than him! There are tough female chiefs out there who never give a whack to such men of his blackened attitude. There are fiery female pastors out there who lead more kind and trustworthy men than him. Now you tell me, how special are men just because they move around with some hairs stuck to their chins? Women are equally strong my friend. And don’t you know that a woman is an emblem of affection and care. Every man once sought comfort in a woman’s womb and that’s why our elders say you can be mocked for being fatherless but not motherless.
And now, hear him once more! So he is winding up his campaign speech. That’s quite a huge relief for he has just abused our innocent eardrums for nothing. What a dreary speech! What empty oration! Hark! What has he just ejaculated now? No way he needs us and we need him? Liar! Bloody liar! It is him who desperately needs us. We can do better without him just as we have been surviving for this long. We have crossed rivers without bridges. We have been using logs and ropes to reach the other side. We have studied in broken school blocks without roofs, yet we still learned and grew. We have lived without hospitals, yet we healed our wounds with herbs and the wisdom of elders. We have built shelters from scraps, shared food when it was scarce, and kept each other alive. Djasa wa Djasa can hang and go to hell! He just wants to suck us dry! Such a selfish ferocious bedbug deserves to rot in hell!
