A morning comes
Where no one holds your hand.
The gate stands open.
The road does not call.
It simply waits.
No one will make the choice for you.
You will need to take the step.
No one warns you
As life quietly begins to change.
You have to make the decision
To stay or leave,
To speak or to remain silent,
To choose which road to follow
And which one to leave behind.
My father
Taught me to read the sky
Before the rain comes,
And to finish what I start,
To work for what’s mine
Without depending on someone else.
He taught me to bear burdens patiently.
Then one day,
Without a word, I grew old.
My father stepped aside
And entrusted me
To make my own decisions,
To trust myself, to do the right thing
In the right time and season.
Some people take the easy road,
Smooth and polished
By countless feet.
Few people choose the rough road.
They ask you to walk alone
Without knowing
Where the road leads.
The brightest door
Does not always
Lead to the light.
The loudest voice
Is seldom
The wisest.
Even a river shining beneath the sun
May lead to a waterfall.
Kindness
Goes a long way.
A truth
That is spoken with humility
Finds a home
In another’s heart.
Though the speaker fades,
The truth remains.
Every choice
Leaves something behind,
A footprint, a scar,
A seed.
Decisions have consequences.
What we plant today
Can build our tomorrow.
No one else
Can walk
The next step for you.
So I keep walking.
Sometimes the road is clear,
But it’s often unclear.
Only courage can lead you home.
Father taught me
To have the courage
To keep going
Despite hardships,
To keep my head up
While making hard choices.
Even through uncertainty, I will find the way.
