What the Gods Have Written

Bone of Contention

I always close my eyes to take a nap
So that I rouse that spirit of absenteeism within me.
I lose sleep only because I struggle with writing.
As I try to put every bit and piece of my thoughts on one coil.
I take myself back to 600 AD,
Picture the epic world I live in
With abundance of decay in chastity.

Am I a lone walker?
Or is this what every human being with a sixth sense feels like?
The diction has to create a form of jargon
Which conveys meaning and thrusts and imputes,
My journey is but a jigsaw puzzle,
It is found in the nerds’ bible
Where they find it insinuating: Die trying to analyse the meaning of words!

A friend once told me you have to rouse that spirit of absenteeism within you
Or you shall be half-dead so that you extract the pertinent part of your human mind.
I find this difficult to attain
Though I admire the beauty of the arrangement of his words.
My writing creates agitation because it does not have persuasive variables.

My Mentor

He is beyond doubt the greatest teacher.
He is intelligent, of medium build and average height.
The way he dresses is remarkably disciplinarian in origin.
He is neither dashingly handsome nor yet unbearably ugly,
Neither too stout nor yet too thin.
I was vouchsafed to him by the gods.
My mentor has the demeanor of an utmost intelligent gentleman.
The confidence with which he walks and speaks defines and refines a determined intrepid representation,
His arrival was not marked by anything out of the ordinary,
His enduring masterpieces are rare.
He has shunned the nightmarish image I used to bear.
His ingenious ideas have become part of my unflinching character.
A moment of greatness is imminent
My academic career has been smoothed towards an uncontested success,
He planted the seeds of reason, and my future will reap the harvest.
He is both a brother and friend
For he is not aged, but has seen the sun before me.
He is my inspiration and motivation,
He has armed me with the necessary vitality to overcome every hurdle along my academic path.
I have adopted the focus of devoted saints
Who unwaveringly lead an ordained life defined by God alone.
It requires no effort to perceive the absolute value this has added to me.
His influence has been stuccoed upon me
And will continue to be the order of the day.

Certainty of Purpose

The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn,
Which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.
The spirit of surety has struck me,
I am cognizant of a predetermined future.
Reality has been well accepted.
What’s left is to find opportunities,
And execute without hesitation my plans.
I have weaned myself from murky existence,
The gods have saved me from existing in pandemonium.
It is time I rise and shine
For the twists and turns I resemble are highly spirited.
My body language, posture and the words I speak are worth reckoning with.
My mentor has done a great job.
I am refined and recreated as a formidable figure
The basic foundations of discipline, patience and respect are now intertwined in my bloodstream and flesh.
My greatest fear is of what I have become
For my path has been well swept.
I am a champion of my own journey.
No hindrance shall be given way to,
I have been trained well to relentlessly tackle challenges.
The know-how is within me.
I always go for Project Hope.
The gods will continue showering blessings upon me
So that I do not become a vainglorious individual
And my confidence does not turn into overconfidence
For the clean sheet will turn out to be spoilt.
I am ready to take this luminous path.
